The Food Service Director is responsible for all Dining Hall operations, equipment, budgets and employees. Prepares all menu items to Prescott Pines Camp standards for guests and employees in an efficient and timely manner. Maintains a clean kitchen compliant with applicable health regulations. Proactive in helping to meet the spiritual needs of guests and staff.


Prescott Pines is owned by the Venture Church Network Southwest, an association of Baptist churches throughout Arizona, but we do not limit our impact to only the association.

We exist to connect people with God and others in the beauty of his creation so that lives are changed and churches are strengthened.

In 2019 we served 100,000 meals, our vision by 2025 is to increase to 150,000 meals.



  • Develops and maintains a strategic perspective based on the organizational needs and direction.

  • Ability to cast vision and grow food services in alignment with the camp growth.

  • Creative in all aspects of food service and brings opportunities forward for consideration

  • Able to own mistakes and make it right with humility

  • Builds healthy relationships with all people who work in or interact with the food service department including guests, vendors, contractors and employees.

  • Consistently maintains a welcoming and friendly attitude; promotes interest and care for all food service customers.

  • Identify problems and offer multiple solutions to be considered by leadership


  • Responsible for all Food Service operations. Works with the Camp Director to align menus and service with camp budgets, programs and activities.

  • Manages all ordering with local and regional vendors, monitors contracts and coordinates delivery and inventory of food, beverages and supplies.

  • Manages special diet requests. Coordinates with parents and guests to understand needs and provide options. Ensures safety of the kitchen and food preparation to accommodate special dietary requests.

  • Works with other staff to organize, clean and maintain facilities and equipment.

  • Responsible for the Food Service annual budget. Takes a leadership role in analysis, recommendations and implementation to ensure an efficient and optimum cost in operation.

  • Hires, trains and manages kitchen staff and kitchen volunteers.

  • Proactively and routinely seeks feedback on Food Service and Dining Hall operations from employees and guests for improvement. Consistently achieving an evaluation score of 3.6 on a scale of 1 to 4.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Camp Director.

  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic, arrives to work on time and avoids excessive absences.


  • Proactive in approach and ability to deliver and excellent experience in all food service

  • areas and guest experience.

  • Working knowledge of cooking terminology and ingredients, qualities of food, beverages, supplies and other relevant skills.

  • Working knowledge in general office technology and possesses strong aptitude in word processing, spreadsheets and database management.

  • Experience with buffets in camping or retreat centers, or other venues with a large number of meals prepared and served.

  • Professional Food Manager Certification

  • 3 years of experience in Food Service management and supervisory skills.

  • Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and or move 50 pounds.

  • Be able to stand for extended periods of time.

  • Often involves long work hours.

  • Flexibility in working schedule requires to meet the needs of the camp’s guests and operations

The kitchen staff help us serve our guests with delicious care in both the dining hall and dish room. Part-Time Seasonal - Guest Services

Prescott Pines Camp is looking for talented individuals to serve on our Guest Services Team. The Guest Services Team serves in many different areas of camp, and fill needs as they arise. These areas include recreation, food service, and accomodations. This job requires a varied skill set and gives the opportunity to make a great contribution to the overall touch and feel of Prescott Pines. You will work with a team to fulfill our mission of helping people experience God through His creation, our care, and authentic community. We are looking for individuals who can work up to 40 hours with included weekends from May 17th to August 15th. This position requires individuals who are enthusiastic, community-oriented and can create inspirational experiences in a high energy setting. Some training will be provided. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who posesses a desire to learn, a love for Christian camping, and a willingness to put their many skills to use. All that is required is a great attitude and a willingness to go above and beyond for our guests.
